Canterbury Trip (Part 1)

November 23, 2009 at 22:12 (Elli in Events/Birthdays/Holidays, Elli in Food, Elli in Lames/Crappiness/Crazy-ness, Elli in Shopping, Elli in Traveling)

I was looking forward to this trip as I will be meeting a friend, Alvin over there.
I’m going with Ping and SK for this trip

Firstly, we have to stop at Victoria Station in London to take another bus to go Canterbury
There were a lot people waiting for bus so, it was kinda crowded..

Need to wait for around one hour for the CAnterbury bus
We went to Kebab’s for dinner.

Continue our journey

It took us 6 hours from Portsmouth to Canterbury
*sigh*
It was quite tiring  actually because SAT IN THE BUS FOR TOO LONG!!

Met Alvin at the CAnterbury bus stop. He brought us to take bus from the Bus Stop to the University
It was so nice to sit on the Double Decker Bus and also quite scary at the same time.
Because the bus seems like wanna bang but actually didn’t bang
After that, Alvin brought us to his friend’s room to drop our luggage and then brought us around to meet his friends
There’s one thing which I think is quite funny
He left us a note and stated there LAW AND REGULATIONS which doesn’t look like Law and regulations at all…

Owner of this room – Ivan

SECOND DAY

Argh!!
Gotta wake up early to go SHOPPING !
Here are some University of Kent pictures

We have to take a short trip to a place called ASHFORD DESIGNER OUTLET

We separated into two group as some of them haven’t taken their breakfast
Actually, there are nothing much to buy as all the stuff are the designer outlet meaning most of the stuff actually outdated already
I was surprised that I didn’t buy anything here (even SK surprised too)

After 3 hours of walk, we felt kinda hungry so, went back to the Food Court to have brunch

The Fish and Chips seriously damn nice!
and everyone been lining up for this! Actually, there is a potato store (I wanted to try that too but I was full)
Before we head on another walk, my eyes were on the Gum Balls
It was so colourful so, I decided to get one for myself.. hehehe

After brunch, we continue our shopping to the sports store
Alvin and Ping gets to buy sports shoe as they (store) are having promotion Buy One and get second stuff for £5!
I saw few basketball shoes that I wanted to buy but I didn’t get it
After two hours in the store, we feel abit tired of walking so, we decided to stop for TEA BREAK while wait for the others
When I passed by a store, theres a lot of cupcakes and cookies display at the store!
I love Cupcakes and Cookies very much!!
So, I ask Ping to share with me~~

After that, Alvin told us that he wants to cook something to bring it over there!
As he said he doesn’t want to go there with empty handed, so, we head to his place and cook
He bought a whole chicken but he do not know how to cut it into pieces
So, Me and Ping volunteer to help him to cut the chicken

I actually promised myself that I won’t cut chicken anymore!
But, this time, I gotta help out cuz I do not want to sit there without doing anything
After cutted the chicken, I have to clean up the place of course!

*MUST BE A RESPONSIBLE GIRL* hahahaha

We went back to Alvin’s room while Alvin cook the chicken and wait for 1 hour I guess.
We went to Shawn’s for dinner

He was so damn busy when I got there
*BUSY COOKING*

I was surprised by the time I walked in, the table is already served with food
All of us wondering what is that.
The way he served the food like how the restaurant in hotel serve the food.

This is our Starter

Main Course

Salmon with Lemon Sauce

Chicken With Black Sauce (Cooked by Alvin)

There’s another Soup that prepared by a girl

Scottish Evening

November 16, 2009 at 03:11 (Elli in Events/Birthdays/Holidays, Elli in Food)

International Cafe will fly us all the way to Scotland.
Scotland has had always been a dream place for me to visit (Maybe it is for me)
A famous traditional Scottish instrument is the Great Highland Bagpipe, a wind instrument consisting of three drones and a melody pipe (called the chanter), which are fed continuously by a reservoir of air in a bag.

Whenever we get there, there is always a piece of paper on the table with few questions on it.
So, it is time for making friends and getting know about the culture in Scotland

The activities that had been planned for us

1) Scottish Dancing
I always get excited when there is a dance. This time will have to find a partner.
UNFORTUNATELY, I gotta partner with SOMEONE (The worst partner EVER!)
Other than the partner, I shall say FUN !

2) Scottish Food
Some of the Scottish are made from beef. But, they also provided a vegetarian one for those who can’t eat beef.
I forgotten what is it called. But, it does look like a dragon egg to me.

Till then, enjoy the Scotland Music !

My very Japanese Food in UK

November 15, 2009 at 23:10 (Elli in Food)

I noticed that I always most of my post wrote the “very first”
Well, I have to write the things that I tried here especially those things that I never expected to have it here
and here another post about food
(I’m so gonna gain weight)
T.T

Venue: Sakura Restaurant at Albert Road
With: SK, Cing, Jessica and Agnes
Weather: Windy

SK, me and Agnes

Jessica and Cing

The Owner of this restaurant is actually malaysian.
The taste of the sushi actually not much different but the only thing different is their rice. Not as sticky as the REAL Japanese Restaurant.
We ordered different types of food and shared.

DESERT TIME!!

I noticed that we ordered quite a lot but I don’t really feel full because just not enough..
hahaha

I missed ZanMai so much now!!

Anyway, y’all must be wondering how much does it cost.
Its around 10 Pound per person = RM 60 per person

I can’t believe that I can have Japanese food here
I will definately go back to that restaurant
I actually introduced to few of my friends here so, I’m going with them of course since I’m the one who introduced it.

After that, we gotta head back home..
I chatted with my little darling (Jacqueline) and we continued what we stopped just now.
I was wondering why all of sudden she asked me those questions (about relationship)
I can’t avoid but to answer her
no harm anyway… hehehe

That’s all for today

November 11, 2009 at 20:10 (Elli in Events/Birthdays/Holidays, Elli in Lames/Crappiness/Crazy-ness, Elli in Voluntary Work/Charity)

Place: Milton Common, Langstone
With: Volunteer in Portsmouth’s Team (VIP)

The president told us that the site was complained about (in the local paper) as it was such a mess, so we decided to clean it up
Even though, I didn’t really join this kind of event when I was in Malaysia but it would be fun I GUESS
I was supposed to go with Ping as SK wanted to go ‘YOGA’ so, she won’t be going with us

While me and Ping waiting for the university bus at the Bus Station, coincident SK just finished her Yoga session so we forced her to come along with us
heheheh XD

When we reached there, I saw my coursemate, Konstantin,  which staying at Langstone Hall.
He was on his way out to gym so, we just chatted for a while then both of us separated
I remembered he told me before that from Langstone Hall to our Business School needs to take around 45 minutes
I felt quite pity for him tho…

Each of us given a pair of gloves, a plastic bags and **********(im not sure call what)
It’s too bored for us just picking up all the recyclable stuff so, SK turn on the music from her phone

and guess what

WE ARE THE NEW CSI TEAM (I thought of that suddenly)

After each of us get the gadgets, we separated to gather all the “things”

CSI – Miss Ping

CSI – Miss SK

AND

ME!!
CSI – Miss Elliza (the photographer)

p/s: the place doesn’t have much trash if compare with Malaysia

Be a Food Tester today

November 2, 2009 at 23:32 (Elli in Events/Birthdays/Holidays, Elli in Food)

Venue: King’s Church, King’s Road
With: SK

Today’s event is about “FOOD AROUND UNITED KINGDOM
This event actually held by International Cafe and its specially for International Student.
This society you will definately won’t regret and the best part is you can meet a lot of friends from different countries!

This sheet here that need to be complete by matching the food and from where the food came from

We actually have to try their food and guess.*It was hard to guess tho*

If you notice at the end of the table, there’s a orange thing on the plate, its actually cheese.
I have to try that and I already had mine then my friend passed to me hers, meaning I gotta eat two. *damn fatterning*

I like this the most (I forgotten where is this from)

At the end, I still can’t guess because some of it look like biscuit but they called it cake and cake they called it pie…

So, I decided to simply match up the food and the country and I also steal some clue from the board which they posted it earlier. *shhhhh*

I got most of it correct! hehehe…
Such a good guess-er *proud*

That’s all for today and gotta head to bed as tomorrow gonna be an hectic day for me!
Good Night Folks!
xoxo
